Derry’s ARC Fitness-Addiction Recovery Coaching has received £200,000 from the Department of Health.
The Minister of Health, Mike Nesbitt, visited the nonprofit organisation today.
ARC Fitness is an organisation that looks to support people who have been impacted by substance abuse and to support people’s recovery through physical activity, therapy, and community, with their centre based in Bay Road Business Park.
ARC Fitness wrote on Facebook about their excitement to receive the payment.
Their statement said: “This vital contribution will significantly help our efforts and resources, allowing us to continue our mission of providing exceptional recovery services to our community.
“We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. Your unwavering commitment and belief in our cause have made this achievement possible. Special thanks go to the mayor, Cllr Lilian Seenoi Barr, whose attendance and support made today an even greater success.
“Together, we are making a difference. Thank you for being part of this incredible milestone.”
Sinn Fein Councillor Sandra Duffy was pleased to see the funding being provided to ARC Fitness.
Cllr Duffy wrote on Facebook: “Fantastic news today for ARC Fitness – Addiction Recovery Coaching and congratulations to the inspirational Gary for securing over £200k from the Department of Health!
“An amazing service offering hope and support to those battling addiction. You have put your heart and soul into this Gary, and as a result, you have saved lives.
“Here’s to the future.”
