Must read

Derby County have announced their second signing of the day after sealing a season-long loan for striker Jerry Yates from Swansea City.

Paul Warne has been keen to bolster his forward line before the Rams return to the Championship next month, and has added two forwards in as many hours.

First the club announced a two-year deal for Kayden Jackson, the former Ipswich Town promotion-winner, and now comes news of Yates’ arrival.

A club statement said: “Doncaster-born Yates has joined the Rams on a season-long loan deal from their Sky Bet Championship rivals, subject to international clearance.

“The 27-year-old has played second tier football in each of the last three seasons, following an impressive 23-goal haul for Blackpool at League One level in the 2020/21 campaign.

“He is Derby’s third summer signing after the recent additions of Ben Osborn and Kayden Jackson.”
