Death Stranding Director’s Cut launches on Xbox Series X|S today
Unlike the original Death Stranding’s Windows launch in 2022, it doesn’t look like Death Stranding Director’s Cut is joining Xbox Game Pass, but its store page has it listed with a fantastic discount for the next 14 days if you want to check it out on Xbox. We’re yet to see the achievement list drop — we’ll let you know once they’re live — but the game is available to purchase and play now.
Death Stranding sees you step into the shoes of Sam Bridges as he explores a decimated America plagued by grotesque creatures from the afterlife that have stepped through a doorway that connects the living and the dead. On a mission to bring hope to the remaining survivors of an event known as Death Stranding, you must deliver packages to reconnect the shattered communities and aid humanity.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut supports Xbox achievements, Xbox Play Anywhere, a new photo mode, and cross-over content with other franchises like Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077. The Director’s Cut builds on the original Death Stranding with quality and performance modes, new combat abilities, equipment, buildable structures, a racetrack, a new vehicle, and more.
Death Stranding has been a hit on PlayStation, so we could well have a contender for our list of the best Xbox open-world games on our hands.
