Dead By Daylight has collaborated with a lot of companies for crossovers and partnerships. Perhaps the biggest they are collaborating with is Blumhouse because of the company’s status along with the fact they are working on the official movie. While the movie is still happening, Blumhouse has seemingly destroyed hopes regarding the next DBD licensed killer.
Right now DBD players are able to enjoy Haunted By Daylight with a total 1,100,000 Bloodpoints available to unlock. Once Haunted By Daylight is over, 2v8 mode returns for a limited-time in-conjunction with the Chapter 34 PTB. We then have another licensed killer arriving before we move onto Year 10 which will officially include an FNAF Chapter.
While FNAF is the biggest crossover fans have clamored for years, right now there is a lot more intrigue surrounding the licensed killer set to arrive in March. The leading theory is Kayako from The Grudge, and this seems even more plausible after a response from Blumhouse.
Next Dead By Daylight licensed killer isn’t from Blumhouse
The next DBD licensed killer is set to arrive in March, and it is a paragraph meaning there will not be a survivor or map. Fans will be able to play this killer early before its full release, and, again, the leading theory is that it is Kayako from The Grudge, especially with BeHaviour Interactive saying “more Japanese IPs are coming” to Dead By Daylight.
While Kayako is the most popular assumption right now, there has also been speculation that it could possibly be M3GAN. Mathieu Cote has said the next licensed killer is “out of the box” and might prove controversial, and it also seems clear that it is not Jason despite BeHaviour Interactive being open to a Friday the 13th Chapter.
M3GAN is a guess from many within the DBD community including The King. It’s also something that would be feasible as, even though she’s an animatronic, Mathieu Cote has recently said that BeHaviour will never let players kill children but children who kill is fine.
Unfortunately, while M3GAN is a good guess with sound logic, it doesn’t appear to be happening. During a recent Reddit AMA, Blumhouse Games were asked if they would add their IP to “something like Dead By Daylight”. The user asking the question specifically said “I’d love to see M3gan join DBD”.
Blumhouse Games responded “We always want to make sure our characters are represented authentically so any future crossover decisions would always be based on that. Nothing to report for now”.
This doesn’t entirely rule out M3GAN joining DBD as Blumhouse Games wouldn’t reveal anything before BeHaviour pull the Chapter 35 curtain aside. However, with nothing teased or alluded to for later, it seems highly unlikely that the licensed killer for March is M3GAN. Not only that, but they are also unlikely to be from a Blumhouse property such as Mr. Boogie from Sinister.
