Dead By Daylight fans have an exciting month ahead of them. To begin July 2024, BeHaviour Interactive has released a new Waterfront Massacre Collection of skins. This collection includes Adam Francis and Gabriel Soma, but most of the love amongst the community is directed at Sable Ward. The DBD community clearly love the new Sable Ward skin, and it reminds Dead by Daylight fans of an old quote from BeHaviour Interactive explaining why the game has such an obsession with feet.
BeHaviour Interactive has shared the Dead By Daylight roadmap for July 2024, and there is much for the community to anticipate. There is the release of Lara Croft as a survivor, we are getting Tome 20, and there will also be a limited-time event for the new 2v8 mode.
All of the above is very exciting, but right now players have a new collection of Waterfront Massacre skins to buy. Sable Ward’s Whimsical Weather outfit is receiving the most attention, and DBD fans are positive that it’s going to make a good amount of moolah for BeHaviour Interactive.
Dead By Daylight fans love Sable Ward’s Waterfront Massacre skin
Dead By Daylight released three new Waterfront Massacre Collection skins on July 4th for Adam Francis, Gabriel Soma, and Sable Ward. All of the skins look fetching, and they continue the game’s impressive amount of great and appealing cosmetics.
While Adam and Gabriel both look great, it is Sable Ward who fans adore the most. DBD Twitch streamer, Bearerine, believes the “Sable Bikini cosmetic will single-handedly outsell” the Alan Wake paragraph, and fans unanimously agree that it looks great and is going to sell extremely well.
It is a fetching skin as it perfectly fits the summer aesthetic of Waterfront Massacre while also exemplifying the goth personality of Sable Ward. Chapter 31 is one of the best original chapters in the game’s history with Sable and The Unknown killer, and it’s always good when BeHaviour release fresh cosmetics for newer characters.
Looking at the skin, fans have light-heartedly joked, “Of course Sable gets a bare feet skin immediately“. For years, there has been a running gag that Dead By Daylight has a foot fetish. The source of this accusation is the fact that several original female killers have exposed feet: The Nurse, The Huntress, The Hag, The Spirit, The Plague, The Twins, The Artist, and The Onryō.
The Skull Merchant broke the streak of original DBD female killers having their feet exposed, but clearly the foot fetish continues into 2024 with Sable Ward. This has brought to light an old quote from BeHaviour Interactive’s lead character artist explaining why there are so many feet cosmetics: “No, we don’t like feet; if we make more feet cosmetics it’s because you like feet. Supply and demand, the data doesn’t lie”.
Reacting to this relevant as ever quote, Dead By Daylight fans have pointed the finger of blame back at BeHaviour. One comment says, “They [BeHaviour] made them [the first five female killers] barefoot before they knew the community liked feet, they started it, the community embraced it”. Another comment says, “I’ll believe that feet cosmetics sell now, but I believe that because there’s such a history of feet for default female Killers I think the fans were summoned by it… Who demanded Huntress have her toes out?”.
As pointed out by the comments, “Sex (or in this case, feet) sells, even in DbD”. There’s nothing wrong with such skins existing, especially with the Dead By Daylight community fully aware of, and embracing, how “thirsty” the community is for the many male and female survivors, as well as even the killers. Just remember though, whenever BeHaviour releases a cosmetic with feet fully exposed, it’s the fans who are to blame as “data doesn’t lie”.
