Davina McCall has made an “enormous leap forward” after undergoing surgery to remove a rare brain tumour, her partner has said in an update on the TV presenter’s condition.
McCall, 57, revealed last week that doctors had found a “big” but benign tumour on her brain, known as a colloid cyst. The condition, which affects only three in a million people, was discovered during a recent health check as part of her menopause advocacy work. She underwent major surgery to remove the 14mm-wide tumour on the advice of neurosurgeons.
In a post on her Instagram account on Monday, Michael Douglas, McCall’s partner, confirmed that she had left the intensive care unit where she had initially been recuperating “as a precaution” upon completion of her surgery.
