Liverpool supporters will soon discover which of Arne Slot’s first-team squad will be lifting silverware this Sunday.
Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz will go head-to-head in the final of Copa America this weekend as Argentina and Colombia face off in the United States, meanwhile Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez could claim Euro 2024 if England get the better of Spain in Berlin.
Once the two tournaments are over, Slot will be able to welcome back the quartet to Merseyside as he continues preparations for the new campaign.
Plenty is being reported regarding the Reds in the meantime, as is always the case, and we have rounded up some of the latest headlines below.

Thiago next move
Thiago Alcantara was recently spotted arriving at Barcelona’s training ground and is now expected to have his new role at the Spanish club confirmed on Friday.
It is anticipated Thiago will be joining Hansi Flick’s backroom team, serving as a “collaborator” for the squad following his recent retirement from football.
In a video released by Barcelona on Wednesday, the 33-year-old can be seen in the same clothing as Flick’s other coaching staff as he makes his way out onto the playing surface.
Mundo Deportivo have stated Thiago “is returning” to his boyhood club, serving as a “link between Flick and the squad”. The article adds the former Liverpool star shares a strong relationship with the recently-appointed Barcelona boss, having previously played under the German at Bayern Munich.
Darwin Nunez backed
Darwin Nunez has come in for some criticism following the unsavoury scenes that followed Uruguay’s Copa America exit.
The Liverpool forward was involved in a brawl with Colombian fans after suffering a 1-0 semi-final loss and appeared to be deeply distressed after the altercation was over.
One individual who went head-to-head with Nunez in the tournament was ex-Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, now of Bournemouth, who featured for 90 minutes as USA narrowly lost to Uruguay in Group C.
Clearly impressed by the display of the Reds’ No.9, Adams was asked to pick between Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and Nunez and named the latter as the superior player in his eyes.
