Daniel Radcliffe proves himself a financial wizard as ‘he amasses whopping nine-figure fortune’ – 14 years after final Harry Potter film

Daniel Radcliffe has earned himself a staggering fortune thanks to his impressive acting career, savvy investments and starring role in one of the biggest film franchises of all time. 

The actor, 35, shot to fame playing the leading role in the Harry Potter movies, but has continued to find great success 14 years after last playing the boy wizard.

After keeping viewers spellbound from the age of 11, he has reportedly amassed almost than £100million in the business he uses to channel his on-screen earnings, Gilmore Jacobs. 

According to the latest accounts filed in March 2024, Daniel’s wealth totals £96.3million, made up of investments and cash in his company, which generates income from several lucrative investments and is still run by his parents.

Marcia and Alan Radcliffe have been looking after the actor’s firm ever since he received his first cheque of £800,000 for the first Harry Potter film in 2001.

Speaking to The Sun about how the star has earned such a mammoth sun, an insider explained: ‘Even devoted fans of Daniel, of which there are many, will be shocked by the fortunes he’s racked up since he left the famous franchise behind and started a new chapter.

‘But it seems his money isn’t just based on how much he’s been paid for his acting work, it’s also down to shrewd investments he’s made along the way which means he has a steady income, whatever happens.’

For the eight Harry Potter films, Daniel is said to have earned a total of £75m, but has increased that sum by almost 30 per cent since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011.

It comes after last year it was revealed that he had doubled his cash reserves to more than £16 million, with company filings revealing he as property worth more than £3.3 million. 

He has allegedly been making around half a million pounds a month, on average and owns homes both in West London and in New York.

After his famous breakout role, Daniel went on to star in films like The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings and Victor Frankenstein.

He also delved into the indie genre, making waves in 2016 for his quirky role in Swiss Army Man and starring opposite Toni Collette, in critically acclaimed independent film Imperium.

Daniel recently appeared with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum in 2022’s The Lost City, and will reprise his role from Now You See Me 2 in the upcoming third film in the trilogy this year.

He has also began receiving greater critical acclaim, bagging his first Emmy nomination for playing the titular role in 2022 biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

While last year, Daniel won his first Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as Charley Kringas in 1981 Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along.

He has also recently become a father, after his long-term partner Erin Darke welcomed a little boy in April 2023.

Daniel and Erin, 40, first met on the set of 2013 American biographical drama film Kill Your Darlings playing onscreen lovers, with Daniel later admitting that he was immediately attracted to Erin.

The notoriously private couple have chosen not to reveal their son’s name, but Daniel made rare comments towards his partner and child in June when he accepted his Tony Award.

Fighting back tears as he took to the stage, he gushed: ‘My love, Erin. You and our son are the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love you so much. Thank you so much’.

In 2022, Daniel spoke out about the ‘terrifying’ and ‘intimidating’ nature of fatherhood.

When asked by E! News how he was finding being a new parent, he confessed: ‘There’s a short answer and a long answer to that. And the short answer is it’s awesome and he’s the best thing that’s ever happened.

‘The long version? It’s frankly terrifying to have a human being in the world that I care this much about.’

He added: ‘Everything he does is going to affect how I feel about my life for the rest of my life. So, you know, that’s intimidating.’
