In a fairytale village Hvar, Hvar away…
Tourists looking to holiday in Croatia can make their trip extra enchanting – by booking a stay in a tiny home shaped like a pumpkin, mushroom or a miniature castle.
The three Airbnb properties, listed by hosts Helena and Florijan, are located in the Krka Fairytale Village next to the Krka National Park, with one described as ‘the cutest place ever’ and another as ‘very special’.
A night within the unique houses comes with free internet, air conditioning, heating, parking, barbecues and use of the surrounding garden and orchard.
The ‘fairytale little castle‘ boasts two bedrooms both with double beds as well as a bathroom, kitchen and plenty of amenities.
As part of every stay it also lists a TV, hairdryer, kettle, cooker, cleaning products, hot water, mosquito nets, board games, an indoor fireplace, freezer and washing machine.
The tiny house, made to look like a small castle, also has lots of outdoor space, where guests will find a table and chairs, bench, firepit, outdoor kitchen, BBQ and sun loungers.
Holidaymaker Marcus, from Berlin, said: ‘Helena and Florijan created a very nice, loving place. We felt very comfortable. The outdoor kitchen and great houses make the place very special. Highly recommended!’
While Ollie, from the UK, added: ‘It’s a lovely place to stay. The kids loved the fun cottage and the play park!’
The magic pumpkin is a bright orange, round house made to look like a giant winter squash.
It offers guests one bedroom that can sleep four guests, a kitchen, a toilet, and a bathroom with a shower.
Inside it also has a TV, iron, and hairdryer – however the listing states that hot water and a washing machine are not available in the pumpkin-shaped rental.

A table and chairs can be set up on the grass outside the property for dining in the sunshine and there is also a firepit, BBQ and an outdoor kitchen.
Carly, from London, said: ‘My favourite place I’ve stayed at on Airbnb. So unique and great use of space.
‘For such a small space it had everything and even with two people it rarely felt like we bumped into each other.’
Gabriela, from New York, said: ‘We had an amazing night in the pumpkin house!
‘The home was very cosy and comfortable. We arrived to some snacks, enjoyed an evening of reading on the large bed, and slept wonderfully (very quiet and isolated). We went the next morning to Krka National Park.’
The mushroom house, shaped like a red-and-white toadstool, offers two bedrooms – one with a queen bed and another with three floor mattresses.
Inside there is also a bathroom and kitchen, a TV, a coffee maker, dishes and cutlery, hot water, toiletries, an iron, a cot or travel cot, baby bath, high chair, window guards and children’s toys and books.
It has a garden and vineyard views for guests to enjoy as well as a private patio.
In a review, Charlotte, from the UK, commented: ‘Probably the cutest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in!
‘It was even better than the photos, the kids absolutely loved it, and we had a beautiful view of the stars at night.
‘Florijan was a great host, super friendly and accommodating and provided lots of little extras and personal touches, and took the time to show us around the site, which he is clearly very passionate about.
‘The location is ideal for visiting Krka National Park, and there are some lovely old towns and beaches not too far away.’
