Cooktown, Queensland: Horror as man feared dead in crocodile attack in front of his children

A man has been dragged underwater by a crocodile after slipping from a riverbank while fishing, the attack taking place in front of his family. 

The man in his 40s, was fishing at Crocodile Bend, near Cooktown, when he slipped and was grabbed by the crocodile about 2pm, reported The Courier Mail.

Queensland police are currently conducting a search operation near the Annan River Bridge.

The location is a popular fishing spot but also well known as a crocodile habitat.

It’s understood a 5-metre crocodile is still visible at the location as police and local rangers continue to search for the man.
