Nikki Glaser had an emotional reaction to finding out that Taylor Swift was forced to cancel the Vienna leg of her Eras tour in response to a terror threat

Following news that police narrowly thwarted an ISIS plot to attack one of the 34-year-old superstar’s three sold-out concerts at Ernst Happel Stadium, the comedian,  40, shared her devastation in a series of posts on Instagram and TikTok

Glaser, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, who has attended the Eras Tour show 17 times over the past 15 months, confirmed she was on route to see her favorite performer when she got the news.

The stand-up appeared distraught in one image, uploaded to her Instagram Story, in which she shared Austrian promoter Barracuda Music and Taylor Nation’s statement confirming the cancellations, as she covered her face with her hands.

In a follow-up post, she explained that she endured a ’32 hour layover in DC before’ finally heading over to Vienna for the show.

After getting the bad news, she and her sister, Lauren Green, recorded a video of themselves singing a song they made up inspired by the past few hours, to the tune of Swift’s 2019 hit track, Cruel Summer.

‘We are stuck at an airport gate on our way to Vienna on a flight that was late. Oh. Planning outfits and singing songs. We had no idea how things could go wrong,’ the siblings sang.

They continued: ‘Then we get a text from our mom. That the shows have been canceled because a threat from a bomb. And we screamed in a Hudson News. What the hell do I do with these godd*** sparkly shoes? I dyed my hair pink for nothing. We’re f*****.’

On Wednesday, news broke that Swift cancelled her three shows in Austria after two suspects were arrested for allegedly plotting a terror attack on the shows.

It has seen been revealed that two radicalized teens aged 17 and 19 took ‘preparatory actions’ for an attack at Vienna’s Ernst-Happel-Stadion, where Swift was was due to perform in front of an estimated 170,000 fans on August 8, 9, and 10.

According to director-general for public safety Franz Ruf, the suspects’ plans included driving a car into groups of Swifties expected to gather outside the venue before attacking with machetes and knives.

The 19-year-old fully confessed to his plans to ‘kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue’, Austrian security officials said.

Ruf confirmed today that ‘explosives were manufactured’ at the suspect’s home after local media reported that the 19-year-old had stolen chemicals from his former workplace, a metal processing company in Ternitz, to build a bomb.

The 19-year-old man – who was living in his parents’ house along with another man – was arrested on Wednesday after police raided the home, according to Kronen Zeitung.

A bomb squad found chemical substances, fluids as well as ‘explosive and technical devices’, according to Ruf, after raiding the home and it is believed that the 19-year-old stole these from his workplace.

Ruf confirmed at a press conference today that the ‘preparatory action’ in the home in Ternitz focused on the manufacturing of explosives.

Among the substances was hydrogen peroxide, which Ruf said is used to create explosives and he confirmed that ‘explosives were manufactured.’

The suspects reportedly planned to ram a car into fans outside the stadium as it is well known that those who missed out on tickets will still come to the venue of Swift’s shows to listen from outside, like a week ago in Munich when 40,000 ticketless fans gathered on hills outside the Olympic Stadium.

The 19-year-old reportedly did not have a ticket and planned to focus the attack on fans standing outside the stadium.

Kurier also cited several sources who claimed one of the suspects had gotten jobs as security guards at the concert, suggesting this could have facilitated the attack.

He intensely prepared for and ‘focused on his planned terror attack’ since quitting his job on July 25, according to Ruf.

He also had blank ammunition, €21,000 in counterfeit money and a blue police flashing light and siren he wanted to use to get to and from the venue, German tabloid Bild reports.

The names of the suspects have not yet been released. The 19-year-old, who has North Macedonian roots, is said to have made a full confession.

The other suspect has Austrian nationality but Turkish and Croatian roots.

A 15-year-old Austrian with Turkish heritage has also been questioned after police found that he had communicated with both suspects.

The 19-year-old suspect had uploaded an oath of allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State group (ISIS) to an internet account in early July, police said.

The head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, said he was ‘clearly radicalized in the direction of the Islamic State and thinks it is right to kill infidels’.

Last month, while on a break from her comedy tour, Glaser traveled to Europe to see a number of Swift’s shows with her parents.

‘On break from my own tour, I went and followed Taylor’s in Europe and brought my mom and dad with me. I don’t have kids and so this is what I like to do with my free time and money because there’s nothing like a mad woman,’ Glaser captioned a slideshow of herself enjoying Eras tour dates in Dublin and Amsterdam.

In 2023, the performer revealed she made the decision to go to the Eras Tour nine times instead of freezing her eggs.

‘When I’m not on tour, I just go to her tour. It just fills my life up with so much joy,’ Glaser said on the Kelly Clarkson Show in October.

During the interview, she noted that being child-free has given her the financial freedom to purchase the concert tickets versus paying for ‘dance camp and swim lessons.’

The star previously told US Weekly that she also owns ‘upward of 25 Taylor Swift shirts.’

Back in 2020, Glaser shared a public apology to Swift after watching her Netflix documentary, Taylor Swift: Miss Americana.

‘Unfortunately, I am featured in her new documentary as part of a montage of a**hats saying mean things about her, which is used to explain why she felt the need to escape from the spotlight for a year,’ Glaser wrote. ‘It’s insanely ironic because anyone who knows me knows I’m obnoxiously obsessed with her and her music.’

The comedian confessed she was ‘horrified’ to see that an interview she did, five years prior, featured in the documentary, in which she criticized Swift for being ‘too skinny’ and only having ‘model friends.’

‘This quote should be used as an example of ‘projection’ in PSYCH101 textbooks. If you’re familiar with my ‘work’ at all, you know I talk openly about battling some kind of eating disorder for the past 17 years. I was probably ‘feeling fat’ that day and was jealous,’ Glaser explained.

She continued: ‘I really have no need to post this other than to apologize to someone who seriously means SO much to me. I only got a couple death threats from die-hard Swift fans, which as one myself, I totally get.’

At the time, Swift saw the post and accepted her apology.

‘Wow. I appreciate this so much and one of the major themes of the doc is that we have the ability to change our opinions over time, to grow, to learn about ourselves,’ commented. ‘I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve struggled with some of the same things I’ve struggled with. Sending a massive hug.’
