Coleen Rooney has opened up about her relationship with Wayne Rooney to other I’m A Celebrity campmates. The mum-of-four is one of 12 celebrities who have swapped the life of luxury for TV’s toughest entertainment challenge.
Speaking to Oti about her husband Wayne’s career as a professional football player, Coleen revealed “All he wanted to do was play football” as she shared his struggles with fame saying he “hated” it.
Coleen continued: “If he could’ve just played football and had none of the fame I think he would’ve been happier within life.” Discussing the former Everton player, Coleen told the former Strictly dancer he has made “mistakes along the way” from starting his career at such a young age.

Coleen and Wayne got married in 2008 in a ceremony in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy. They were both 22 at the time after being engaged from the ages of 17 and 18. The mum of four admitted that she and Wayne “felt older” because they had grown up quickly and were living in the public eye.”
The Liverpool-born TV personality added: “Since the first mistake he’s made, that’s been in the public, people have not forgiven. When things have happened the public have wanted it to just go oh, split, you know, that’s it, split them up. But the fact is, there’s always been love still there.” In an emotional statement, Coleen revealed she and Wayne are happy: “It has been difficult, but we’re happy now, after all those years… we’re a team.”
Coleen admitted she felt anxious about the prospect of leaving her four children for a number of weeks, but said extensive planning has been put in place to make sure everything is in place for them while she is away. She said: “I am looking forward to it.
“Don’t get me wrong. I’m really anxious about leaving the kids. That’s been my biggest thing. I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve planned and prepped.
“I’ve got an army of family and friends all helping out with the kids so they are going to be fine. They are probably going to have a great time while I’m away.”
