Coco Rocha is championing her icon status this week in Cannes.
The supermodel created her own category of style during her time in the Riviera, wearing everything from a sculptural flower dress to a Botticelli-esque gold gown. She served up some of her buzziest fashion moments at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, as well as accompanying events in Cannes.
Rocha first made the red carpet her own on May 20, when she kicked off her Riviera stay at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “The Apprentice.” She wore a stunning ensemble from Robert Wun’s Spring Summer ‘24 Couture collection, taking care to show off its details with a number of poses.
Aptly named the “trench gown,” the dress featured a voluminous tan skirt with a large peplum “collar,” multiple brown buttons, dangling “straps.” Its detachable tan long sleeves were decorated with silver buckles, while pink pleated fabric spilled out of the cuffs to create a billowing silhouette.
Up top, the same pink fabric made up a strapless corset with a sweetheart neckline and cone-like details at the bust. Not one for subtlety, Rocha accessorized with a large diamond necklace and a matching ring.
For the premiere of “Marcello Mio” the next day, the star opted for a sheer gown that literally dripped with diamonds. The long-sleeved dress had a vintage feel with intricate crystal netting, embedded gemstones, and diamonds that dangled from every angle.
Rocha emphasized the retro look with gold platform heels, as well as a tennis necklace and matching diamond earrings, both from Astrea London. She wore her brown hair slicked back in a ‘20s-esque hairdo, and brought the shimmer to her glam with a sparkling silver eyeshadow.
After embodying a chandelier, Rocha referenced another inanimate object for the Kilian Paris “Sunkissed Goddess” Party. She arrived wearing a black minidress with red sequin floral motifs and a dramatic bust, the latter of which fanned out into a pleated circle of tulle and satin to make the supermodel look like a Chinese folding fan. Sheer black knee-high tights, embroidered with the same red sequin flowers, played up the ensemble as Rocha, barely visible behind her outfit, wore a matching red lip and bold black eyeliner.
As the week ramped up, so did Rocha’s outfits. Her next look, for the amfAR Cannes Gala, resembled none other than the Palme d’Or. Glimmering gold panels sprawled like leaves over her sheer nude gown, while a gold cape made of feathers hugged her figure and added to the ethereal ensemble. The supermodel wore her dark hair slicked back with a headband, looking like she had emerged from the heavens like Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.
On Friday, Rocha wore her most outlandish (and impressive) look. She attended the premiere of La Plus Précieuse Des Marchandises in a striking and sculptural white Cheney Chan dress. Made to look like the delicate petals of a flower, the gown featured a green bedazzled border to make the piece even more realistic.
Its ivory pleated fabric swirled around the supermodel’s shoulders, enveloping her head and neck to resemble the point of a petal. A layered diamond necklace and sweeping diamond earrings added to the ensemble’s dewy look.
Rocha matched the detailed gown with intense eye makeup, including fluttering false eyelashes, a metallic green eyeliner, and light green eyeshadow topped with green chrome flakes. She finished off her glam with pink blush and a glossy pink lip.
While her engagements in Cannes have ended, the supermodel continues to serve looks wherever she goes—and her next ensemble is eagerly awaited.
