Lidl has unveiled its very own Christmas cola truck for the first time ever, just in time for the beginning of the Christmas period.
Turning their fan-favourite Freeway Cola drink into a 15-tonne, 20-meter-long truck, the bright red vehicle will visit nine cities across the UK. Creating a pop-up wonderland with each stop.
The vehicle is set to visit Dundee, Harrogate, Hull and Nottingham, before making a special appearance in Wolverhampton’s Victoria and Bell Square on November 23, almost mirroring the highly anticipated official Coca-Cola truck route.
However, the supermarket group said the magic doesn’t stop there.
Mirroring the supermarket’s new Christmas advert, that was directed by Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper, Lidl will be making Christmas wishes come true in the real world.
Once the tour stops, visitors will be able to make one Christmas wish that would change their families lives, the retailer will then grant a number of them.
At the magical stops, Lidl will also be handing out Christmas snacks, as well as offering a chance to take a walk in their life-sized present box, ring a bell to mark the beginning of the festive period, and try their delicious Snowmellows.
Joanna Gomer, marketing director at Lidl GB, said: “Giving back to the communities we serve is really important to us and our exciting new Freeway truck allows us to get right into the heart of them this year.
“By touring nine stops across the country, we’ll be using our giant truck to hand out present boxes, give away festive food shops and grant wishes that will make dreams come true. Look out for the Freeway truck on its tour and most importantly, come join the fun.”
The Christmas Freeway-Cola truck will be stopped at Wolverhampton’s Victoria Street and Bell Square on November 23, with everyone invited to visit between noon and 6pm.
