Horror movie fans have been warned about the level of ‘extreme violence and gore’ ahead of a screening of Terrifier 3.

The chilling sequel is slated to be released on October 11, with Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) set to ruin Christmas for us all as he transforms into a chilling Santa Claus.

Cinemas are taking matters into their own hands ahead of the premiere, and have issued warnings to the audience – after the 2022 outing left some vomiting and fainting.

Taking to Twitter, the official Terrifier account shared a picture of a message displayed at a preview screening in the UK, pointing audience members in the direction of staff members if they are in need of first aid at any point.

‘This film contains extreme violence and excessive gore,’ it read. ‘If you are feeling unwell, please find a member of staff. Staff trained in first aid are on site.’

Alongside the picture, the account added: ‘Don’t say we didn’t warn you…’

The warning did very little to deter potential viewers, as they flocked to share their excitement for the release.

JaseInvader cheered: ‘When you see this outside your theater you know you’re in for a good time.’

Robbie penned: ‘Guys I’m so excited for this film like actually.’

‘Ohohoho this is making me more excited,’ Vi agreed.

As Squirrel shared: ‘Well now I want to see this movie even harder.’

Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait as Terrifier 3 will be released in cinemas in October, just in time for Halloween.

However, it wasn’t quite the wholesome evening for some members of the audience at the screening, as many walked out before the credits rolled.

Signature Entertainment quoted the Terrifier account’s tweet, adding: ‘Thank you to everyone joining us last night for the Terrifier 3 gala.

‘Venue staff have reported 11 people walking out and 1 person vomiting. If the #Terrifier3 event impacted you please let us know if you need more support at this time.’

Director Damien Leone created the infamous monochrome clown in his 2008 short film, the 9th Circle, which led to Art terrorizing the big screen nearly a decade later.

The first Terrifier film was released in 2016, with the hugely popular follow-up just two years ago.

Art the Clown is back for blood in the third instalment, and will be making sure that Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) has a very memorable Christmas, years after she escaped his clutches.

In the terrifying teaser, he was seen dressed as a nightmare Santa Claus while surprising a couple getting hot and heavy in the shower, breaking the glass and swinging a gigantic chainsaw – reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

Terrifier 3 is in cinemas on October 11.
