Chris Martin has shared his take on his daughter Apple’s debutante ball in Paris last month.
Apple’s high society debut became the talk of the town due to a video where she was accused online of showing “mean girl” behavior.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the Coldplay frontman, talked about attending the ball out of love for his daughter.
“[It is] so not something I ever thought I’d do, but because I’m so in love with her, I’m like, ‘OK,’” Chris confessed. The interview was conducted before the ball took place.
At the event, Chris danced with his daughter, who was also supported by her mom Gwyneth Paltrow and younger brother Moses, 18, as well as Gwyneth’s mom Blythe Danner, 81.
Apple looked stunning at the high society event custom blue Valentino Haute Couture gown, She was among 20 girls presented at the event and made her entry with her date Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck.
Apple recently responded to the backlash on her eye roll from the ball with a video on TikTok.
In the video, she mimed the voiceover which said: “I mean… I don’t know how anyone has a problem with us.”
Her friend then mouthed: “We are such a delight we are two of the funniest girls’ as Apple stood behind her and hurled a dirty look her way.”
The voiceover added: “And I know us offline, when I tell you there aren’t two more generous charitable kind…”
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow got divorced in 2016.
