Child rescue alert cancelled as five-month-old baby found safe in Dublin | BreakingNews.ie

Updated [16:30]: A child has been located safe and well in Dublin city centre, after the car the five-month-old baby was in was hijacked.

The child rescue alert that was issued has also been cancelled.

GardaĆ­ had issued the alert after the five-month-old baby girl was in a car hijacked by a man not known to the infantā€™s family on Monday afternoon.

Officers said they had ā€œserious concerns that there is an immediate and serious risk to the health or welfareā€ of the child.

The car, a silver Nissan Qashqai hatchback with the registration number 10-D-21328, was last seen in Mountjoy Square in Dublinā€™s city centre at around 1.50pm on Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaĆ­ on 999 or 112.

GardaĆ­ had urged people to not approach those involved, and instead immediately contact 999/112 or your local Garda station providing as much information as possible.
