Enzo Maresca has reportedly already rejected the opportunity to leave Leicester City this summer – weeks before becoming the favourite for the Chelsea job.
Speculation has been rife in recent days regarding the future of the Foxes boss. It appears Maresca’s exploits of gaining promotion with City during his first full year of management in England have piqued the curiosity of elite clubs across the continent.
Of course City will be aiming to keep a hold of the Italian as to instil the required stability to reintegrate into the top-flight and maintain their status there for years to come. Therefore the latest claim regarding Maresca comes as a major boost on Thursday.

“Enzo Maresca received approach by Sevilla in the recent weeks but he didn’t want to advance in talks,” writes reporter Fabrizio Romano on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Maresca wants to focus on the Premier League, he wants to work in PL football and stay in England.”
Granted, the 44-year-old could achieve that top-flight dream at either the King Power Stadium or Stamford Bridge. As soon as Mauricio Pochettino vacated the Chelsea job earlier this week, the City boss’ name cropped up and he has since been listed the 2/1 frontrunner to take over in West London.
Any approach would ultimately leave both the manager and Foxes’ chiefs with a major decision to make. In his post, Romano also reveals there is a £7-8m release clause inserted in his current contract.
