Celebrity Big Brother star Samantha Fox has been cleared of assaulting her wife on a British Airways flight after prosecutors dropped the charge.
The former Page Three model, 58, had been due to stand trial at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday after denying assaulting Linda Olsen by beating her at Heathrow on December 3, 2023.
The incident reportedly stopped the London to Munich flight from taking off.
It is understood the assault charge was discontinued after changes to the evidence meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction.
Fox had pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and using threatening behaviour, causing harassment, alarm or distress to a police constable during a court hearing in April.
She will now be sentenced for the two charges at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
According to reports from earlier this year, Fox – who starred on I’m A Celebrity in 2009 and on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016 – spent a night in a police cell after allegedly arguing with another passenger.
The Sun had claimed that the flight was ready to depart, but passengers were forced to disembark as it was turned around, due to Munich airport’s early closing time.
Passengers were said to have been put up in a hotel for the night, and were able to fly the next day.
The Met Police confirmed to Metro.co.uk in a statement earlier this year: ‘Officers at Heathrow Airport were called at 20:57hrs on Sunday, 3 December 2023 to a report of an assault on an outbound plane.
‘The plane returned to the terminal and a woman, aged in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of assault and being drunk onboard an aircraft.’
Fox and her partner Olsen tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony in Epping Forest, Essex in 2022 after six years together.
They got engaged in March 2020, with a rep for the star saying at the time: ‘Sam and Linda are so happy together and want to spend the rest of their lives together. They’re so in love and want to make it official.’
Though Olsen largely remains out of the spotlight, Fox spoke about their relationship on Celebrity Big Brother, telling her housemates: ‘She’s not in the [entertainment] business which is wonderful.’
She added: ‘I’ve now [fallen] in love with another woman.’
Fox came out to the world in 2003, when she confirmed her relationship with Myra Stratton.
They were together for 16 years, before Stratton died of cancer in 2015.
Fox previously told MailOnline: ‘When my ex-partner died, I was with her for 16 years and that’s a long, long time.
‘For two years, I couldn’t write a lyric. I just couldn’t write because everything I was writing was very sad and I didn’t want to show people I was in that sad place.
‘It was very hard for me to actually release anything at that time and go on stage and pretend to be happy. I was quite sad but time is a healer and then I met Linda.’
