Who can “disgraced” Phillip Schofield have been talking about when he said he wouldn’t work with certain people again and that “when you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bloody good reason to do it”? He didn’t name names in his new penitence-and-publicity tour, aka Cast Away (Channel 5), but I suspect Holly Willoughby’s ears, along with those of some ITV executives, were burning like hot plates.
It was Willoughby who made that toe-curling “Are you OK?” speech after Schofield, her co-presenter and close friend, quit his job on This Morning after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger production assistant.
