Andy Carroll joined a Newcastle star on a wild stag do in Ibiza, where they bumped into a bizarre collection of random footballers.
The former England striker was part of a group who visited the Spanish party island to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Newcastle goalkeeper Mark Gillespie.
They were joined by another current Magpies star in Elliot Anderson, Paul Dummett who is leaving the club this summer and Preston midfielder Brad Potts.
The group appeared to enjoy a chaotic holiday ahead of Gillespie’s wedding with his interior designer partner Sally Rea, and things took a bizarre twist when they bumped into a number of footballers.
Gillespie took to his Instagram to story to share a snap of the group on a night out, which included Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali.
The Italian though has not represented the club since October due to his betting ban.
Fans were surprised to see Tonali in Ibiza, with one writing: ‘Tonali off his head in Ibiza with Dummett and Gillespie. Geordie through and through Sandro.’
Another commented: ‘What on earth is Sandro doing in Ibiza?’
During the stag do, the group appeared to head to a festival where they met Atletico Madrid captain Koke.
At the same festival they also met Carroll’s former Liverpool team-mate, and Spanish World Cup winner Pepe Reina.
When one Newcastle fan brought up the people that Gillespie bumped into, the Magpies goalkeeper responded: ‘Not finished yet.’
With the post he shared a selfie he took of himself and former Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.
One Newcastle fan account responded: ‘Mark Gillespie has had one hell of a day on his stag do. He’s bumped into Toon midfielder Sandro Tonali, Atletico Madrid legend Koke and now former Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld.
‘Never a normal day on Newcastle United twitter.’
Another person wrote: ‘Can’t think of many weirder football link-ups than Mark Gillespie and Koke.’
While one fan joked: ‘Nearly a full starting XI.’
Gillespie shared a host of pictures to his Instagram story, including one where he hinted where the wedding would take place, as he wrote: ‘It’s been a pleasure see you in Italy.’
Gillespie and his partner Sally are reported to have started dating back in 2015, and had their first child together, a baby girl, in December 2020.
