Following his triumph at Roland Garros, Carlos Alcaraz stated that the forearm issue threatening him during the first part of the clay season appears to have been resolved. At a Babolat-hosted event that included Cameron Norrie and Holger Rune, Alcaraz clarified that he was in London to confirm the title he had won in 2023.

Alcaraz updated his fitness in an ominous way and said: “I feel like I have no more injuries, that I can hit freely, 100% without thinking about it. We did a great job. The clay court season was difficult, but I no longer felt any pain. I’m here to get the same result as last year.”

The reigning champion Alcaraz gave his goals for the third Slam of the year, which gets underway at Wimbledon on July 1, on the same day the draw for Wimbledon 2024 was made.

At least on the surface, the 2024 Roland Garros champion’s route appears to be significantly simpler than that of his two main opponents, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic, and he escaped some loose cannons that were not included among the seeded players. As such, he cannot complain about the draw.
