Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 Beta Dates And More Revealed

Must read

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s official release date is October 25, but before the retail version drops, the beta will provide users with a preview of the game. On Monday, July 17, the official Call of Duty podcast revealed some valuable information on the upcoming game.

Here is a look at the entire inaugural episode.

For the first time in franchise history, the beta will be released on every platform simultaneously (PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S. Customers who have pre-ordered the game will have early access to the open beta beginning on August 30 and running through September 4. Others will have access beginning on September 6 and running through September 9.

Here is a look at the more specific availability times and dates:

Early Access:

  • Begins August 30 at 1 pm ET
  • Ends September 4 at 1 pm ET

Open Beta:

  • Begins September 6 at 1 pm ET
  • Ends September 9 at 1 pm ET

In addition to the information on beta dates, the podcast also shared info on the first viewable gameplay for Zombies in Black Ops 6. It will be available on August 28 at Call of Duty Next.

Zombies have become one of the most popular ways to play COD. It’s hard to believe that at one point, I remember questioning whether it would be a concept that would stick with the franchise.

There was also new information about score streaks and omnimovement. In a departure from what we saw with Cold War, Black Ops will return to the more traditional score streak systems. It will reset whenever you die.

It may be the old-school COD player in me, but I’ve always preferred that setup.

As far as omnimovement, it appears to be here to stay.

So much so that it cannot be turned off, once that update is available in the new game, it will be active in the campaign, MP, Zombies, and Warzone.

While I’ve never proven superiorly skilled in wall-running and other advanced moments in the game, I can respect the additional skill required to utilize those aspects.

I also like it when Activision reminds users that this is still fantasy-based despite using many real-life weapons.

The COD news has been consistent for the past week, with Season 5 teases landing last week, including an incoming collaboration with WWE. CharlieIntel also posted news about cel-shaded variants of three popular MWIII maps for the upcoming update.

A few recent patch notes designed to create more balance also exist, including the attempted nerfing of the rate of fire on the COR-45. As it is, the next few months will be huge for the COD franchise and its fans.

Be on the lookout for full details of the collaboration with the WWE and the rest of the goodies packed into the Season 5 update.

October will be crazy with Call of Duty 6 and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Undisputed, and more dropping over a two-week span.
