BTS member Suga expressed regret and apologised for his behaviour following DUI charges.

According to Soompi, Suga, whose real name is Min Yoon-gi, issued an apology on Wednesday morning, August 7, after being booked by Seoul Yongsan Police Station for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).

“I am very heavy-hearted and apologetic to bring you disappointing news,” he wrote on Weverse. “After drinking at a dinner last night, I rode an electric scooter home.”

Suga explained the incident, saying, “I violated the Road Traffic Act due to my complacent thinking that it was a short distance and my failure to recognize that using an electric scooter while intoxicated was prohibited.”

“I fell while parking the scooter in front of my house, and a nearby police officer conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in the cancellation of my license and a fine,” the 31-year-old South Korean rapper continued.

“Although there were no victims or damaged property in this process, it is entirely my responsibility without any excuse,” he sincerely apologized to everyone he disappointed.

“I apologize to everyone hurt by my careless and wrong actions, and I will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from occurring again,” he assured.

Additionally, Suga, who is completing his mandatory military service as a social service agent, will face “appropriate disciplinary actions from his workplace,” according to BTS’ agency BIGHIT Music’s official statement.
