The British Cycling National Road Championships will come to Darlington at the end of the week – here are the road closures, parking, and race times for the event.
The circuit race will come to the town on Friday (June 21), beginning on West Row, before making its way through Houndgate, Feethams, Tubwell Row, Crown Street, before finishing on West Row.
The women’s race will begin at 6:35pm, while the Open National Championships Race will begin at 8:20pm.
Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) have confirmed closures will be in place on West Row, Blackwellgate, Houndgate, Feethams (past the Town Hall), Church Row, Tubwell Row, Crown Street, Northgate (town centre end) and Prebend Row.
Parking for the event can be found at Feethams car park, which will cost £1 per hour and hosts 650 spaces including 33 blue badge spaces and 10 electric charging points.
Other car parking options can be found at: Cornmill car park, St Hilda’s Tannery Yard, Hird Street, Park Place East, Garden Street, Kendrew Street East, Kendrew Street West, Archer Street, Duke Street, Winston Street South, Salt Yard, and Central House (Gladstone Street).
A spokesperson for TVCA said: “Riders will face a tricky, technical circuit through the town’s tree-lined suburbs and town centre streets with plenty of opportunities for exciting racing.
“The races promise to deliver an exhilarating midsummer’s evening of top-class cycling in Darlington town centre with the chance to cheer on the UK’s best riders.”
