Flying out of London City Airport, travellers can ride a ferry there from one of the 24 piers between Putney Pier in the west and Barking Riverside in the east.

Flyers able to disembark at Royal Wharf Pier and get to the airport.

Along the way they’ll see landmarks like Big Ben, The London Eye, The Shard, and The Cutty Sark.

And, if they’ve got time to spare, they can embark and disembark as they please and check out locations like Chelsea Harbour, Battersea Power Station, and Embankment.

Discounted tickets are available from £4.20 per person within the East Zone or £7.69 from central London.

You get the discount if you are a BA customer flying on the same day as using the ferry and booking in advance.

If passengers show their boarding pass to the onboard cafe they will also receive a complimentary hot drink.

Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Cityflyer, said: “Not only is flying from London City a convenient and quick way to travel, but it allows our customers to really embrace our brilliant city.

“With views of the Canary Wharf skyline and the River Thames, it’s an airport like no other and working with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers helps us to extend the London experience beyond the airport.”

At present, BA Cityflyer already flies from London City Airport to nearly 30 short-haul destinations.

The ferry service comes after BA expanded the Cityflyer last year to also leave from Stansted Airport in Essex.

Flights had stopped from the BA subsidiary when Covid hit and began again in May 2024.

Flights to Nice, Florence, and Ibiza will be operated by BA CityFlyer on both Saturdays and Sundays.

The airline now offers flights from four London airports.

Brits can now also fly from Southampton Airport in Eastleigh with BA City Flyer to both Bergerac and Majorca this summer.
