British Airways owner to pay first dividend since pandemic

The owner of British Airways will pay a dividend to its shareholders for the first time since the start of the pandemic after enjoying a strong first half of 2024 and amid a bullish outlook for the rest of the year.

Alongside its results, International Consolidated Airlines Group, which also owns Aer Lingus, the Irish carrier, and Iberia and Vueling, of Spain, also announced that it would pay a €50 million termination fee after ending its proposed takeover of Air Europa, another Spanish airline.
