Brit stabbed to death in Spain seaside town after ‘row with other foreigners’

A British tourist has been stabbed to death outside a nightclub in Spain.

Police say the 30-year-old was knifed outside Oxygen nightclub in the popular tourist hotspot Calella, Costa Brava, at around 5am on Friday (June 21).

It’s believed he was involved in a row with other tourists in the seaside town, about 30 miles from Barcelona.

Another person was injured in the brawl and was rushed to the hospital.

Police have launched an investigation, and no arrests have been made so far.

Calella police stated: “This morning there was a fight in a nightclub in the city.

“The result of the incident is one dead and one injured, who has been taken to a hospital. The attack was by knife.”

They added that the Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s police force, are leading the investigation.

Detectives have been looking at CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses as they search for the attackers.

The nightclub was cordoned off with police tape as officers meticulously examined the area.

Local sources report a “heavy police presence” in the vicinity.

Calella, located in Spain’s Maresme region near Barcelona, is a well-known tourist destination.
