A BRITISH pensioner has been arrested after allegedly trying to suffocate his wife to death with a pillow in Greece.
The 87-year-old reportedly attacked his sick and bedridden spouse, 89, in Paleo Faliro just outside of Athens.
She was rushed to Janeio hospital, local media reports.
The Brit was arrested on Sunday for attempted murder after allegedly attacking his wife in the flat they shared, Protothema reports.
He then reportedly went to another flat on a different floor of their building to tell a friend what he had done.
This second man’s girlfriend called the police and when they arrived at the apartment they found the wife lying naked on their bed.
The unnamed OAP apparently told police his wife asked him to suffocate her because she had been unwell and confined to bed for so long.
Her condition is unknown.
Cops have launched an investigation.
British pensioner David Hunter, 76, was sent to prison for 19 months in 2022 for killing his terminally ill wife.
Hunter, originally from Northumberland, smothered his cancer-stricken wife Janice at their home in Cyprus.
The Brit grandad said his wife “begged” him to kill her to end her suffering.
He was cleared of murder but instead found guilty of manslaughter and was handed a two-year sentence by judges.
After months behind bars he was allowed to return home in a suspended sentence.
