A British man has died after being hit over the head with a hoe following a row with his Spanish neighbour.
Police have arrested a suspect following the assault in the small town of Zurgena in the province of Almeria in south-east Spain.
The incident is understood to have occurred after a neighbour of the unnamed Brit got upset with him for walking his dog near his home and allegedly ran out of his property to attack him with the garden tool.
The victim was rushed to La Inmaculada Hospital in Huercal-Overa a 20-minute drive from Zurgena with severe head injuries but died on Saturday.
Sources close to the investigation said a man was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide following the attack just after 1am on August 12.
He is now facing a new upgraded charge of homicide.

It was not immediately clear today whether the row over the dog thought to have sparked the violent attack was related to noise the animal was making or caused by something else.
The age of the man held has not been made public.
A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed today the incident had been “clarified.”
He added: “It is now a matter for the courts which has launched an ongoing investigation.”
It is not known if the dead Brit lived permanently in Zurgena or had a holiday home in the area.
The town, which has a population of just under 3,000, is located in the Almanzora valley close to the towns of Albox, Huercal-Overa and Los Carasoles.
It is a 40-minute drive from the tourist resorts of Mojacar and Vera and about an hour and a half from the provincial capital Almeria.
