Brighton have opened talks with Leeds over a move for winger Crysencio Summerville, talkSPORT understands.
Leeds expect to lose the £30million-rated Summerville having missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
Summerville’s current deal expires in September 2026.
The Yorkshire outfit narrowly missed out on sealing an instant return to the top flight last month, losing 1-0 to Southampton at Wembley in the Championship play-off final.
As a result, Leeds fans fear many players will be heading for the exit with another season down in the Championship ahead of them.
The 22-year-old joined Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020 after they went up as Championship winners under Marcelo Bielsa.
After a season in the Under-21s, Dutchman Summerville has gone on to play 89 games for the club, netting 25 goals and bagging 12 assists.
Half of those appearances have come in the Championship. He scored 19 goals and recorded nine assists as Daniel Farke’s side pushed for promotion. He was also crowned Championship Player of the Year.
Jack Harrison is another player that could leave this summer following his Premier League loan with Everton as part of what could be a mass exodus at Elland Road.
Archie Gray, Willy Gnonto and Georginio Rutter have all been touted for exits too.
However, former Leeds star Jermaine Beckford has told talkSPORT Gray is unlikely to leave.
Brighton, meanwhile, have recently welcomed new manager Fabian Hurzeler.
He’s replaced Roberto De Zerbi, who left the club at the end of the Premier League season.
talkSPORT understands the Italian is set for an immediate return to management, though.
Brighton have already signed a winger – Nordsjaelland’s Ibrahim Osman – for £16million, with the deal agreed back in February.
They’ve also released Adam Lallana and Steven Alzate, with the former rejoining former club Southampton.
