Netflix and Shondaland have revealed that Bridgerton season 4 will focus on the love story of Benedict Bridgerton. The fourth season of the historical romance series turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson).
Despite seeming loath to settle down, we now know that Benedict is soon to meet his match on the popular Netflix series. With both his elder and younger adult brothers now married, it seems it will be the most laid-back Bridgerton’s turn.
Without giving too much away, Netflix has revealed that Benedict is to become captivated by a certain Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball. Season 4 of the series, which comes from showrunner Jess Brownell, will commence filming its eight new episodes in London at a date that has not yet been confirmed.
While no release date has officially been announced, it is rumoured that the fourth season will drop sometime in 2025. Netflix decided to share the exciting news with fans on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
The streaming platform posted an exciting teaser clip with the accompanying caption: “It’s official – next season is Benedict season on #Bridgerton!!!” (sic)
The teaser shows various clips of people in the Ton enjoying the latest Lady Whistledown, while the caption reads: “Next season’s most compelling match will be unmasked. Welcome to the marriage mart, Benedict.”
We then see Benedict seemingly practising chatting up someone who’s caught his eye, as he tells himself: “I’m honoured to accept your acceptance.”
In another clip, we see him dancing at a grand ball and hear him say: “It feels right now that the next thing may change me entirely.”
The video then clips to actor Luke opening the door in his normal clothes, as a voice behind the camera says: “I hear we’re fitting you for suit.”
“I already have an outfit for tonight,” Luke replies in mock puzzlement.
“Oh no, it’s not for tonight, it’s for the masquerade ball,” the voice continues.
With a smile, Luke then replies: “Oh, well in that case, come on in.”
Fans took to the comments section to share their excitement and to demand updates on season 4.#
“I will definitely be there Can’t wait,” one wrote, as another penned: “Screaming yaaaaaay but PLEASE don’t split his season into two.” (sic)
“So excited for Benedict Bridgerton’s turn as the newest suitor,” a third enthused, as another asked impatiently: “Are we waiting 2 years for this or not?” (sic)
“Cant wait for this,” another excited fan tweeted, as one more begged: “Pls start filming asap !!! We don’t want to wait for 2 years.” (sic)
The first three seasons of Bridgerton focused on siblings Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Colin (Luke Newton) respectively, with the third season also giving air time to Francesca’s (Hannah Dodd) developing romance arc.
Bridgerton seasons one to three are available to stream now exclusively on Netflix.
