Bridal fashion, wedding gowns were the hottest look at Cannes Film Festival

Must read

They’re making a vow to wow.

Rather than rice, fashion fanatics are showering Hollywood’s most haute with praise for transforming the red carpet of the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival into a chichi bridal aisle.

Stealing the spotlight from the marquee movies premiering at this year’s fête along the French Riviera, celebrated starlets such as Anya Taylor-Joy, Uma Thurman, Kelly Rowland and Helena Christensen stunned in wedding-inspired gowns from luxe houses of design.

And the radiantly white regalia left online onlookers saying “yes” to each dress.

“Slay Queen you are class!!!!,” applauded an approving admirer of Rowland, 43, on X. The multihyphenate mesmerized in floor-length crème couture by Jean-Louis Sabaji at the premiere of “The Count of Monte Cristo” on Wednesday.

Taylor-Joy, 28, garnered similar flattery from fans after she flaunted a flirty figure in a sheer, strapless shift from Jacquemus’ new “Le Mariage” bridal collection.

The “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” star elegantly pinched the train of the floor-length number, which also featured floral appliqués, while strutting her stuff in white Aquazzura gladiator sandals.

Thurman, 54, appeared altar-ready in an ivory custom Burberry duchesse silk satin gown, and supermodel Christensen, 55, looked every bit the blushing bride in a glorious white gown from Vivienne Westwood.

A-listers with affinities for fabulousness have become fascinated with “big-day” styling in recent months.

Kylie Jenner, Jodie Turner-Smith and Ariana Grande were all decked out in “I Do”-like designs at the 2024 Met Gala.

And futuristic couturiers like Iris Van Herpen — who masterminded tech mogul Mona Patel’s jaw-dropping Met Gala garb —  just unveiled the world’s first 3D-printed bridal dress as a “dream” addition to her voguish body of work.

Brides, a virtual wedding-planning hub, attributed the VIP swing towards bridal fashion to its classically dramatic trains, posh drop-waist silhouettes and eye-catching flower embellishments.

“Megalopolis” actress Nathalie Emmanuel, 35, joined in on the bride-to-be revelry, turning heads in a custom Chanel Haute Couture gown at the sci-fi drama’s debut in Cannes over the weekend.

Her co-star Aubrey Plaza, 39, served holy matrimonial sophistication in a white, long-sleeved, floor-length gown with draped detailing at the waist from Loewe.

Cinema siren Jena Malone, 39, followed suit in a flowing frock by Zuhair Murad. And Emirati singer Blaquee Fathi, 39, made her festival introduction in a romantic white show-stopper from Italian designer Giambattista Valli.

Candice Swanepoel, Claire Holt and Carmen Sonne, too, rocked tying-the-knot togs from Westwood, Georges Chakra and Louis Vuitton, respectively.
