A boxing chief has revealed plans to try and persuade Oasis to reunite as soon as this month, for Anthony Joshua‘s fight against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.

The two heavyweights will scrap it out for Dubois’ IBF heavyweight title on September 21.

Meanwhile, the Gallagher brothers have agreed to bury the hatchet, and tickets for their long-awaited reunion tour went out on sale on Saturday, which saw fans fighting overwhelming odds and ticket site crashes to see their first shows in over 15 years.

Liam Gallagher is already set to perform a mini-gig consisting of three Oasis songs at Wembley for Joshua’s fight with Dubois.

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has told talkSPORT that he is going to ask if Noel would perform alongside Liam – ten months before their UK and Ireland tour starts on July 4 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Asked if Noel will be alongside Liam, the Saudi boxing chief told talkSPORT: ‘I hope so! It will be something amazing if we get them together.’

Asked whether he had already asked Noel, he then added: ‘We will try. Why not?’

His comments come after Simon Jordan last week told talkSPORT that he asked Noel Gallagher about the reunion.

He said: ‘It’s funny because I asked him – basically he came to the fight between Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez [in February] – and I had asked him about September 21.

‘His reason for not going was because he didn’t think it was a good look, if he was in the crowd, Liam was singing and he was wearing earmuffs!

‘But now they’ve all made friends and a big bag of money around the world for them [it could change].

Oasis are already due to perform at Wembley Stadium next year, alongside the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Heaton Park in Manchester, Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh and Croke Park, Dublin.

All of the UK and Ireland dates for Oasis’s reunion tour sold out in less than a day.

Joshua’s fight with Dubois is the biggest since his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk back in August 2022.

Dubois won the interim IBF heavyweight title back in June, though that was promoted after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title by opting to fight Tyson Fury in a rematch, instead of facing Dubois who had been the mandatory challenger.
