The Blackpool lad, 28, was the first to be given the boot in the ITV series.

After leaving the show, Ryan revealed Big Brother really does have its eye on you at all times – and there’s not much that housemates can get away with.

The marketing and events worker told The Sun about a sneaky booze plot that never made it on air.

And he said the stars have their alcohol intake monitored at all times.

One night Sarah tried to stash a half-finished bottle of wine – but Big Brother was one step ahead of her.

He said: “At night, say, for example, there’s a bottle of wine left over in the night, in the morning that wine has gone, so they do remove it from the household.

“Maybe Big Brother himself comes down and gets it!

“I remember one night Sarah tried to hide a bottle of wine, but, like for everyone, to keep that the next day.

“Then boom! It’s gone so Big Brother doesn’t miss a trick.”

Reflecting on the overall house atmosphere, Ryan also revealed that the vibe shifted dramatically on his last day in the West London mansion ahead of the first round of nominations.

He said: “When I was in there everyone seemed to get on.

“As I was leaving, there was a few conversations of people saying, like, ‘Lily’s getting a bit annoying, she’s doing her edit’, and that was shown through the people that were nominated as well.

“I definitely think there’s certain people in there who, it’s still in the back of their mind, ‘what if I said this, would it be seen like this?’

“And I think people are a bit like that. Emma, she says it as she sees it, and I think that’s a good thing.

“Nathan and obviously Daze as well and, Dean, they’re all quite real.

“So I’d like them to win, and also I’ve got a lot of time for Marcello.

“I just think there’s a few others who are overthinking it a little bit … People are playing their cards too close to their chest.”

Ryan also defended one of his favourite housemates Marcello, after calls for the star to be axed for making comments about women.

He was slammed over one “misogynistic” remark to Sarah last week, asking her if she was on her period. Then last night he told her that she “smelled like period”.

Ryan said: “I’ve got time for Marcello.

“But I just think he’s been represented, maybe a little bit differently, as what I’ve seen in there.

“At first I thought the same, obviously he does talk about women a lot.

“He’ll be the first to admit that. But there’s also the other side where he’s very respectful.

“He cooks and cleans for everyone. He opens doors for people, and I think yeah, I don’t think he’s as bad as what’s been made out.”
