The US has meanwhile reportedly begun ceasefire talks with Iran and “Arab states”, but without the involvement of Israel.
According to Israeli media, the talks are aimed at ensuring a comprehensive ceasefire on all fronts.
Israel has been informed of the initiative but is not taking part, Israeli Channel 12 news reported.
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, was heading to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to discuss efforts to end Israeli strikes on Gaza and Lebanon.
He is visiting the Gulf kingdom “in furtherance of our diplomatic efforts, in coordination with countries of the region”, Esmail Baghaei, a ministry spokesman, said on social media.
