Beckham says Victoria documentary for Netflix ‘will show off her personality’

“She’s a strong, driven, passionate person who has gone from being a Spice Girl and to be respected in this [fashion] industry is very tough.

“She’s worked hard for 17 or 18 years with her business. No one sees what she does and the amount of work she puts in.

“It’s an exciting time because I think she’s going to do something that’s really special and people are going to see her personality and her work ethic.”

One moment from the 2023 documentary that went viral saw Victoria claim she grew up “very working class”, only for her eavesdropping husband to force her to reveal her father owned a Rolls-Royce.

Beckham, who keeps bees, brought along a pot of honey that he had named in honour of his wife. “It’s called Sticky Vicky,” he explained.

The former Manchester United and England star was asked to name television programmes he had enjoyed watching, and said that his wife mocked him for taking them as fashion inspiration.

He said: “Whatever TV show I watch, I turn into the characters. With Peaky Blinders it was the cap.

“Then we watched Yellowstone and I was a cowboy. Which she kind of liked.”

Beckham claimed that he had not enjoyed starring in the documentary about himself, which was directed by the Succession actor Fisher Stevens. In the series, he answered questions about his career and his marriage.

He told the RTS: “Fisher made me feel uncomfortable, from the moment we sat down to talk, to the moment I finished. And I really needed that because I needed a director to come at it from a different angle.

“Because everyone kind of knows my career and my life and things like that. So I needed someone like him to bring something different out of me.”
