The North East’s most popular living museum has opened an emporium shop – with merchandise sold by staff in era-appropriate costumes, and the opportunity to take pictures with historical props.
Beamish Museum has opened a new shop at the Prince Bishops – promising a flavour of the museum in Durham City Centre.

The pop-up comes hot on the heels of expansions at the museum, with a 1950s cinema, record shop, and toy shop welcoming guests for the first time this month.

A spokesperson for Prince Bishops shopping centre said: “Beamish Museum is set to open Beamish Emporium at Prince Bishops Place. Prepare to step back in time at the new shop.”

The shop will take up residence in Durham for three months, and further details are expexted to be released soon.
