BBC Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt’s five-word dig as fans slam line-up

Must read

Matt Tebbutt returned to Saturday Kitchen Live with a new episode and welcomed his guests Kit Harrington and American actress Olivia Washington.

As the actors joined to promote their new production, Slave Play they also enjoyed culinary delicacies from chefs Paul Ainsworth, Mandy Yin and Jon Watts.

However, the show had a new twist as the Game of Thrones star joined Matt in front of the cooker and lent a helping hand.

The TV chef shared: “We asked Kit and Olivia if they wanted to learn how to cook something on the show.

“So Kit told us he wanted to make his dad’s Hollandaise, which is brilliant on live TV.”

The presenter continued: “I don’t have that particular recipe,” and added: “I’m not your real dad, but I’m going to show you my Hollandaise.”

As Kit was tasked to continuously stir the sauce, Matt made the rest of the dish and served a bed of peas and pancetta with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.

Despite this, viewers were confused by the episode’s celebrity guests and took to social media to slam the line-up.

This included @KermitKane11 who posted: “#SaturdayKitchen Too much laughing joking this morning! Also everybody is a bit hyper!”

A second viewer penned: “#SaturdayKitchen Curreny watching Saturday Kitchen and I’ve never heard of Kit or Olivia the two guests that are on! Don’t watch recent films!”

@JustinWilsonSco echoed: “Don’t know if it is an age thing. but who are these celebrities? I honestly have never heard of them #saturdaykitchen.”

As @Gingernutts1 slammed: “This program needs a dam good revamp getting very boring the guests are only promoting their own image and bank balance how about some street heroes ‘school dinner ladies’ leftover challenge! etc / how much food is wasted in production?????”
