Battlefield 3 and all DLC to be delisted from Xbox store ahead of server closure

Must read

For those working their way through the Battlefield 3 achievements ahead of the server closure later this year, just be aware that EA is delisting Battlefield 3 and all of its DLC from the Xbox Store on July 31, 2024.

Battlefield 3 and DLC packs to be delisted on July 31

If you missed it, EA announced it was closing servers of multiple Xbox 360 Battlefield games later this year. Online services in Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360), and Battlefield Hardline (Xbox 360) will close on November 7, 2024. Ahead of the server closure, the publisher has now confirmed that all three of these games, along with their DLC packs, will be delisted from the Xbox store on July 31:

On Wednesday, July 31 the following Battlefield titles will be removed from digital storefronts and you will no longer be able to purchase them and all extra related content such as DLC.

  • Battlefield 3 (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)
  • Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)
  • Battlefield: Hardline (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)

Online services for these titles on these platforms will end on November 7, 2024. While the online components of these titles close for these platforms, if you own the game, you will still be able to play the single-player component.

Technically, we already knew about the Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360) and Battlefield Hardline (Xbox 360) delistings, as they are non-backwards compatible 360 games that will be removed from sale when the Xbox 360 store closes on July 29. The Xbox One versions of these games will not be impacted by the delisting or server closure in November.

While physical versions of these games do exist, their DLC is digital only, so make sure you grab any DLC packs you want before they’re delisted and gone for good.

As a reminder, if you are going for any of the online achievements in these games, it will be worth setting up or joining a Gaming Session to work through them with other TrueAchievements members. It’s worth noting here that the best way of boosting achievements in these games is by renting a server, but as renting servers is handled through Xbox 360 Marketplace, it looks like that feature will no longer be available once the 360 store closes on July 29.

In other server closure news, 24 Entertainment has announced it is sunsetting the Xbox One version of Naraka: Bladepoint in August.
