Saltburn star Barry Keoghan has been spotted on the set of the new Peaky Blinders film. The Irish actor has starred in numerous films in recent years, including in Saltburn, where he played Oxford University student Oliver Quick who was from Prescot.

New pictures show Barry on the set of the new Peaky Blinders film as he filmed alongside Sophie Rundle And Tim Roth in Yorkshire. He looked every inch the Peaky Blinder as he was spotted filming wearing a flatcap, grey suit and overcoat.

Barry was seen closely following Sophie Rundle into a building in Bradford as cameras rolled on the hotly anticipated movie. Sophie, who is reprising the role of Ada Shelby, wore a red coat and skirt with matching lipstick and hat as she walked alongside an unknown actor called Kasper Hilton-Hille.

These pictures will cause fans of the show to fear that Ada meets a sticky end. Peaky Blinders newcomer Tim Roth was spotted arriving at the building carrying a gun before emerging with the leather bag Ada was carrying on the way in.

It has been rumoured that filming for the film has taken place in Merseyside too. Last month, machine guns and explosions were heard in St Helens. The noises were part of filming for an upcoming film. A letter, dated September 23, was circulated from Oblik Productions to those living in the town. The firm said it would be filming a “series of action sequences at the Pilkington Glass Factory, on Canal Street.”

It added this was for an “upcoming feature film” named The Immortal Man. An article on a Netflix fan website states this is the name for the new Peaky Blinders film appearing on the streaming service. The letter made no reference to Peaky Blinders however. The production company was approached for comment.

Filming also took place outside St George’s Hall as film crews shot what appeared to be an explosion. The scene saw fire and smoke erupt into the sky, with ‘panicked’ extras seen frantically fleeing an old-fashioned bus. While this has not been confirmed to be Peaky Blinders, there were a number of flat caps on set last night.

Netflix confirmed shooting had started in a post shared on Instagram. The streaming giant shared a snap of star, Cillian Murphy, alongside show creator Steven Knight with the caption: “By order of the Peaky Blinders… Tommy Shelby is back. Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight are reunited on set as production officially starts on the upcoming Netflix film.”

Although the gangster epic was set in Birmingham, it has a close association with Liverpool as many scenes were shot in the area. In an interview with the ECHO, Steven Knight said the city’s aesthetic was vital to bringing his grand vision to life.
