Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the greatest games of all time let alone one of the best ever RPGs. It’s a fantastic experience primarily because of the writing, characters, and the fact choices actually have different outcomes that matter. Larian has revealed the rarest ending in the game, and a hack shows an impossible alternative to the rarest ending unlocked by zero Baldur’s Gate 3 players.

Even though BG3 came out a year ago, its momentum hasn’t slowed as it just recently won another best game award. In addition, it’s still one of the most exciting games of 2024 thanks to the planned release of patch 7 in September. This will bring an official mod kit to PC, and it will also add the ability for players on PS5 and Xbox to download mods.

We cannot wait for patch 7 to arrive, but right now even more secrets of the game have been uncovered. Players are always finding something new about Baldur’s Gate 3 on a daily basis, and a YouTuber has found their way to an impossible alternative for the rarest ending in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 hack shows alternative to rarest ending

In honor of the game’s one year anniversary, Larian shared more player statistics for Baldur’s Gate 3. This revealed that the rarest ending in BG3 has only been unlocked by 34 players. Per Larian, the rarest ending is as follows: “34 players playing as Lae’zel chose to kill themselves at the end of the game after Vlakkith rejected their ascension”.

YouTuber SlimX has shown how to unlock this rare ending. Playing as Lae’zel, you must simply choose to abide by Vlakkith’s wants throughout the entirety of the game up until you reach the moment of freeing Orpheus. In this moment, you must choose to free Orpheus and take on the guise of a mindflayer yourself.

At the conclusion, you will be given the choice to kill Orpheus. Choosing to kill Orpheus, you are then given the choice to request ascension, but your plea is unanswered by Vlakkith. You are then able to kill yourself which results in an epilogue with Withers.

The above is an outline of the official rarest ending in the game. However, YouTuber SlimX has uncovered an alternative that is impossible to unlock but exists within the game’s files.

This alternative is achieved through not becoming a mindflayer and not killing Orpheus. The ending is the same, but it sees Lae’zel get rejected by Vlakkith while still keeping her true githyanki form.

It’s impossible to unlock because leaving Orpheus alive skips the Vlakkith ascension option, meanwhile, Orpheus as a mindflayer always kills himself. You can check out SlimX’s video below to see the rarest ending and all alternatives:

In other gaming news, a PlayStaion Showcase is rumored for September.
