Despite developer Larian Studios officially moving onto its next project, the book is not closed on Baldur’s Gate 3. After the brilliant release of Patch 7 earlier this year, the team is working on another update for the already-massive RPG.
Larian Studios’ director of publishing Michael Douse, aka Cromwelp, teased the new update for the beloved role-playing game.
Next Baldur’s Gate 3 update teased
In a post on Twitter, or “X” if you’re one of those, Douse very lightly teased the next update for the game. Douse shared an internal message from the studio where they approved the words: “good, amazing update”.
Considering Larian’s transparency with the size and quality of updates in the past, these three words are hugely exciting for fans of the game. With past updates adding more evil endings, official mod support and more, every patch is a cause for excitement.
As for the next update, there’s no confirmation of what Larian will be including in Patch 8. However, there are numerous announced features that have still yet to be added that may appear in the next update.
For example, Larian Studios has already announced a photo mode is in development for the RPG, allowing players to get up close to the action and snap some pics. Furthermore, BG3’s long-awaited cross-play feature is still in development but it could hopefully arrive in the next patch for the game.
Whatever Larian includes in the eventual Patch 8, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a fantastic addition. While some players have pined to re-experience cut content from the game’s early access builds, every post-launch update has been sublime. With a “good, amazing update” already signed off by the team, we’re all expecting something special.
