Daily horse racing tips
- AYR
2.20: Wattani 6/1 each-way (0.5pt) - RIPON
6.20: Bright Lily 8/1 each-way (1pt)
Wattani
Half-brother to French winner and listed and group runner, Montussan.
Wattani is trained by Alice Haynes who has a strong record with two-year-old runners on the turf and though it hasn’t been quite the same strike-rate this year, she should have a strong one with this Starspangledbanner colt. Especially at this each-way price.
It’s a wide open contest with prices starting at around 9/2 for this ten runner novice stakes, featuring nine debutants.
Bright Lily
Violet Love is the strong favourite in this fillies’ restricted but has a double penalty to contend with that saw her come second last time out.
She could be a bit prone to being beaten by these unexposed fillies who have shown signs of ability, while Easy Peeler is the shortest priced debutant.
She is given a total of 16lbs by the favourite but it’s Bright Lily who seems to appeal the most with that bit of experience just behind Kiss Me My Love at Carlisle last month.
That form has worked out pretty well and that winner even went on to run at Royal Ascot, granted she was a 200/1 shot finishing 19th of 24 in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes.
That was Kiss Me My Love’s third run too to win that, having previously gone close to Up The Clarets and Larchill Lass, all of which has worked out fairly well too which only boosts Bright Lily’s chances here as she’s given a stone by the favourite.
