A surprising new trend has emerged out of Miami Swim Week 2024 – and Australian fashion lovers are already itching to get their hands on the talk of the town.
Designers have taken inspiration from 1990s fashion and created rosette bikinis using the popular flower-shaped decoration.
Sought-after brands like Mahogany Coast Swim, Ema Savahl, and Diva Boutique chose to hero the statement flower.
Rosette details add a three-dimensional element and feminine touch to swimwear, making this season’s pieces feel romantic yet racy.
The Blue Topaz show chose to embrace the trend in a subtle way by attaching white rosettes to a strapless bikini set – but Milus Rose went all out and fashioned stringy bikini tops out of tiny rosettes only meant to cover the wearer’s nipples.

Milus Rose also showcased a two-tone denim bikini where one bra cup consisted of a rosette
While Australia has just entered the throes of winter, women are already dreaming of the beaming December sun and the embrace of European summer.
As countless fashion brands revamp Y2K styles, the swim industry chose to skip over neon-bright triangles in favour of the classier – yet somehow more scandalous – trend.

The denim design’s bottom followed a classic silhouette made interesting by combining dark wash and light wash denim.
Other designers including ones at St Thomas University Fashion and Love For Upcycling also chose to jump on the denim swimwear trend.
The latter unveiled a unique one-piece with denim rosettes trailing down one side and connecting with the high-waisted bottoms.
The denim trend has also generated buzz because jeans are one of the most uncomfortable fabrics to wear at the beach – but fashion lovers are willing to forgo their discomfort to keep up with the trends.

Thin silver threads with jewels hung from the top and bottom, resembling droplets of seawater.
AXIL Swim placed strategic rosettes on their pieces, using the flowers to enhance rather than steal the show
On the other hand, AXIL Swim placed strategic rosettes on their pieces, using the flowers to enhance rather than steal the show.
A black bikini with tie-up bottoms was elevated using white rosettes reminiscent of classic Chanel looks – and the sure-to-be popular set is also available with a red base.
In a true call back to the 90s, AXIL Swim also debuted a cheetah-print bikini with a bright red rosette sewed into a demi-cup and on the high point of the bottoms.

From subtle accents to bold statement pieces, three-dimensional flowers add texture and visual interest to a look and are much more glamorous than a simple floral print.
