A reliable insider has revealed more details about Ubisoft’s multiplayer Assassin’s Creed game, Codename Invictus, and suggested that it has a similar structure to Fall Guys.

With Assassin’s Creed Shadows finally giving fans the Feudal Japan game they’ve wanted for the past decade, it’s easy to forget that Ubisoft actually has a bunch of different games in the series under development. Infinity, Hexe, and Jade are just a few examples of the in-development titles we don’t know much about, but there’s another that most fans tend to forget – Codename Invictus.

Assassin’s Creed Invictus was confirmed to be in development so long ago and has been barely talked about since that many simply don’t remember that it’s a thing. It seems that we might be finding out more about it soon, though, as a Ubisoft insider has provided some more details about how it plays.

Assassin’s Creed Invictus Will Reportedly Have A Similar Structure To Fall Guys

Over on Twitter, reliable Assassin’s Creed insider xj0nathan (who previously suggested that Watch Dogs is dead) shared a list of details about Codename Invictus, which he says is supposed to be releasing next year. The most surprising detail is that Invictus will “be a kind of Fall Guys”, which instantly conjures up some strange images in my head.

What xj0nathan means by this is that it’ll have a similar set-up of matches consisting of multiple rounds with different “games”, such as Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and a platforming speed game where you must race between glowing points. The Fall Guys inspiration also comes from players needing to do well enough to qualify for another round, which lets them choose their powers and create a build.

According to xj0nathan, Ezio and Cesare Borgia are going to be playable characters in Invictus, which probably doesn’t come as a surprise.

The insider also revealed more details about the gameplay, claiming that it’s going to be “very arcade” and have hits without impact and a Smash-esque bubble shield. Finally, they suggest that the maps will be references to locations in the series, such as Baghdad from Mirage, an island map from Black Flag, and even an area in Japan from Shadows.

All-in-all, it’s a bit of a surprising format if xj0nathan is right, as many fans wanted an experience similar to what was in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. We’ll have to see for ourselves when Ubisoft finally shares more information about the long-awaited project.
