Arsenal are shopping at the top end for a new striker this summer.
The priority for the Gunners is Newcastle United centre-forward Alexander Isak, says the Independent.
However, there is an acceptance inside the club that Newcastle will be reluctant sellers.
Therefore, the London club has a backup plan. If nothing happens with Isak, Brian Brobbey, 22, is the prime alternative.
The Holland striker has found his way back to form since returning to Ajax.
Brobbey has scored 22 goals and provided twelve assists in 43 competitive games this season.
But Viktor Gyökeres, 25, is also an option if Arsenal fail to land Isak or Brobbey.
The Sweden international has been outstanding for Sporting CP, though there is talk of his club demanding €100m to part with the centre-forward.
