We know Ariana Grande has committed to method dressing throughout the Wicked press tour. In fact, the actress actually started dressing like her character, Glinda the Good Witch, IRL waaay before the press tour kicked off, rocking ‘fits inspired by the film as early as the 2024 Oscars, this year’s Olympic games and during her stint hosting Saturday Night Live.
Of course, she was saving her best Glinda-esque ensembles for the official global premieres, starting with a custom Vivienne Westwood pink ballgown and butterfly choker that was practically an exact match to the costume Billie Burke wore as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz. She’s also repped a sugar plum pink bow coord, a pink and white gingham caped midi for a Glinda-Dorothy mash-up and an iridescent, plunging princess dress.
But, her best look of the lot might actually be the yellow tulle dress she wore last night for the London premiere, fittingly the last stop on the tour.
Yep, ditching Glinda’s trademark pink, Ariana donned the custom chartreuse Ralph Lauren creation that featured a tulle bodice and flared tulle ballgown skirt. An additional strip of tulle fabric was draped across her chest to create an off-the-shoulder neckline before wrapping around her upper arms and descending from her elbows into the sweeping train of the dress. A sparkling diamond choker-style necklace completed the look.
Of course, Ari obvs opted for yellow – or is it a yellowy-green? – for a reason, with the ball gown referencing a similar Glinda look from the Broadway musical. During the scene when Elphaba and Glinda first arrive in the Emerald City, the character of Glinda, originally played by Kristen Chenoweth, makes a costume change into a yellow dress.

Given the London premiere was themed ‘One Short Day in the Emerald City’ with the UK capital doubling as the famous green-hued city of Oz (per a post from the official Wicked Instagram), it makes perfect sense Ari chose to honour this look. She was even photographed wearing a pair of green-lensed round sunglasses at one point, as all the citizens of Oz do in both the musical and the film adaptation.
Alas, the Wicked press tour may now be over, but that means we can *finally* watch the long-awaited film. See you in the cinema!
