Argos shoppers dash to buy cheap new Sky TV rival using simple discount code

Must read

Sky continues to lead the streaming revolution thanks to its clever Glass TV which features easy access to hundreds of channels without needing a dish drilled into your walls or set-top box tucked under the screen. It’s a neat solution but Sky Glass is a premium product with a premium price – the cheapest deal right now (including Sky content and Netflix) is £42 per month.

If that sounds too much for your current finances there is another new way to stream live and on-demand content to the big screen and there’s even a money-saving code to make switching cheaper. The Freely platform, which launched back in May, comes built into TVs and features seamless access to a swathe of channels from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

There’s also a full TV guide, recommendations on things to watch and even the ability to pause live TV for up to 15 minutes.

Just like Sky Glass, there’s no need for an aerial stuck to your chimney with everything whizzed into your living room via a broadband connection.

There are a bunch of telly manufacturers now making Freely-powered TVs but those wanting to get a cheaper deal will need to take delivery of a device made by Bush.

What is Freely? UK’s new free rival to Sky TV explained

Argos is currently offering these screens with a 10 percent discount when using the code BUSH10 at the checkout. That reduction means you can have a shiny new telly delivered to your door for as little as £270.

These deals are clearly proving popular with Argos confirming that the screens are “in demand” and “selling fast”.

These Freely TVs are clearly cheaper than signing up for a long-term contract with Sky but the Glass TV does have some big advantages.

There are way more channels to stream on Glass than Freely plus you get personalised recommendations for each member of the family. There’s also full integration with other services such as Netflix and Disney+ and you can save things to watch later via the clever  Playlists function.

Other extras on Sky Glass include voice search, an integrated soundbar and a remote control with backlit keys.
