We are now up to the iPhone 16 but not every can afford to spend £799 on Apple’s latest smartphone. If you are in need of a new handset and want to save some money then this excellent deal on the iPhone 12 from Argos could be for you. The UK retailer has stock of the phone for just £399 while stocks last.
According to the listing page, Argos says the iPhone 12 is ‘in demand’, which is how the company labels products that are selling fast. We’ve seen great deals like this disappear quickly.
Released in 2020, the iPhone 12 was the beginning of a major design change for Apple. It was the first iPhone since the iPhone SE in 2016 to have flat sides, a design choice that persists to this day. The phone has dual camera, a sharp 6.1-inch Retina OLED screen, and is available at this special price in white, green or purple. Our choice would be the green.
Perhaps best of all is this discount sale price is for the 128GB mode of the iPhone 12, which was available at release with 64GB at its cheapest. This is not really enough by modern standards, so you can rest assured that with double the storage at 128GB you shouldn’t fill up your phone with photos, videos, apps and games too fast.
Despite being four years old, the iPhone 12 can download and run the very latest iOS 18 software, and given Apple’s track record should continue to receive the newest updates until at least 2026. Though it can’t run Apple’s new Apple Intelligence AI features, the phone does have 5G, which is more important to most people than AI.
It’s worth noting that the phone comes with just a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box for you to charge up, but you might need to buy a wall charger as this is not included. If you prefer, you can also use Apple’s optional MagSafe magnetic charger to wirelessly charge the phone. This clever system also allows you to clip MagSafe cases and wallets to the back of your phone, or easier snap your phone onto a MagSafe car mount when on the road to use it as a GPS system with Google Maps. Sorry, Apple Maps.
Remember to think before you buy, as £399 is still a decent chunk of change. You might also want to check out other UK retailers such as Backmarket, which sells refurbished and sometimes serviced electronics. Apple no longer sells the iPhone 12.
